Use the right geography
The public FHFA ZIP file used here is a 3-digit ZIP regional index, not a ZIP5, street, parcel, or address-level value.
Start by converting your ZIP5 to its first three digits, then use that ZIP3 region for the broad index calculation.
Calculation formula
Estimated current value equals starting value multiplied by ending index divided by starting index.
If a starting or ending period is not available for the selected ZIP3 region, the site shows Not available instead of inventing a number.
