Look at level and direction
The index level shows where the region sits relative to its base period. The change metrics show direction over selected windows.
A high index level and a weak recent quarter can both be true; one describes long-term appreciation, the other recent movement.
Check source labels
Every data page should show the index type and latest period. Some ZIP3 records may use different index-type labels from the source file.
Those labels matter because they tell visitors what source classification was imported for the latest regional record.
